Election of Lawyer Youssef Al-Tabbaa as President of the Syrian Arab Gymnastics Federation
Mr. Youssef Al-Tabbaa has been elected unopposed as President of the Syrian Gymnastics Federation.
The election took place during the General Assembly meeting currently being held under the supervision of Mr. Ismail Al-Mustafa, Director of the Organization Office at the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Supreme Electoral Committee.
The session was attended by international expert Mr. Fayez Al-Khatib, representative of the International Gymnastics Federation
The electoral process saw 16 candidates initially, with four being disqualified for legal and regulatory reasons.
Among the most notable disqualifications were presidential candidate Ahmad Mishmish, due to exceeding the legal age limit (65 years), and Malaz Dweidar, for not residing in Damascus.
In addition, Lorraine Saba was excluded for not meeting the minimum legal age (25 years), and Nour Qassam was removed because her name was not listed among the official members of the conference.
Three other candidates also withdrew from the election race.
As for the federation board membership elections, Mrs. Rania Abu Al-Fakher won unopposed as the only female candidate.
The following individuals were elected as federation members: Shadi Al-Suleiman, Amer Attar, Maher Hawari, Mohammad Bakir, and Ghiath Malhis.
